Renee B. Mackey

Human Resources Officer

U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Ohio

Renee began her career as a Human Resources Specialist in 1989 and currently serves as the District’s Human Resources Officer. Before that she served as a Personnel Clerk with the Veterans Administration from 1984 to 1989. When she started with the VA on temporary appointment, she didn’t anticipate making the Federal government a career but has enjoyed working in HR for 35 years.

In her current role, Renee provides advisory and technical services to approximately 200 employees in professional, administrative and legal roles across four major cities, including Cleveland, Toledo, Akron and Youngstown.

The Northern District recently on boarded the largest number of new employees and contractors in many years to fill vacancies. At the onset of this process, this was a seemingly arduous task; however, with Renee’s guidance and foresight, the process ran smoothly and efficiently.

Renee’s Mom is 93 years young and keeps Renee on her toes. They have three cats together that rule the house.
