The 2019 Greater Cleveland Bench-Bar Memorial Program will be held on Monday, April 8 at the CMBA Conference Center Auditorium beginning at Noon. The program will pay tribute to attorneys and judges from Cleveland and Cuyahoga County who passed away in 2018 (January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018) and had devoted their lives to upholding the rule of law and the highest standards of the community.

Every year, during the ceremony, brief remarks are made by various judges and local bar association representatives, and reflections are provided by a guest speaker. A full reading of the names of those being memorialized take place, and a reception with light refreshments are held immediately following the ceremony. This year we welcome the following to provide remarks:

  • Judge Patricia A. Gaughan, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio
  • Marlon A. Primes, President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association
  • Justice Maureen O'Connor, Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court
  • Judge John J. Russo, Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas
  • Judge Michelle D. Earley, Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court
  • Reverend Todd C. Davidson, Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church (to provide the Reflections)

The Memorial Program is presented each year as a collaborative effort by the bench and local bars, including the Cleveland Metropolitan, Federal-Northern District, and Norman S. Minor Bar Associations,. The program is open to the public at no cost and lasts approximately one hour.
