Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Academy

This program is coordinated by a collaboration including the CMBA, Norman S. Minor Bar Association, Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and designed to introduce students to the legal profession. Minority high school students from schools throughout Cuyahoga County are provided the opportunity to participate in this summer program, combining academic and work experiences.

At the Academy, area high school students participate in a three-week, part-time intensive law institute. The Academy presents a case and takes students through the discovery, interview process, and development of both the prosecution and defense sides of the case, and culminates in a Mock Trial experience, under the supervision of lawyers and judges. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn a one month part-time internship and a small stipend. The top student in the program is rewarded with a scholarship.

The 2018 Academy will mark the 14th year of the program, which will take place weekdays in June. Click here to download the 2018 Application (file will automatically begin download in Word). The deadline for 2018 Applications is Friday, April 13, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
