News & Communications

There is so much happening at the CMBA. Stay up-to-date on the news and events at the CMBA through our website and online calendar

We also work to keep members informed through our printed publications and e-communications, including our emails (see below) that provide members with news and updates on what's happening at the CMBA, Bar Foundation, our legal community and beyond.

Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Journal – magazine produced monthly to share timely legal topics, Association news, recap recent events and promote upcoming activities of the CMBA and Bar Foundation. Opportunities are available for advertising and members can author articles and columns.

Legal Directory – produced annually, this is a 'go to' book for Northeast Ohio's legal professionals for court contact information, law firm mailing addresses, attorney phone numbers and email addresses, and more.

Introducing My CMBA

We are excited to introduce you to our new, interactive platform called “My CMBA.” This members-only community connects you to your colleagues anywhere, anytime. Gone are the days of only connecting in person at section events, committee meetings, CLE, etc. Now you have access to your CMBA networks through an easy-to-use, interactive platform.

CMBA Text Notices

The CMBA will soon introduce text notices to share quick confirmations and updates. CMBA text notices will primarily be used as reminders for program/event registrants, but the CMBA may occasionally send messages related to Association-wide announcements or updates (expect no more than 2 per month for general announcements). Message & data rates may apply.

To update your CMBA communication preferences, log into your account and update your preferences under the My CMBA tab.

To opt out of text notices, reply STOP to any text message received from the CMBA.
To opt into text notices, please contact the CMBA or log in to add your mobile number to your account.

For additional help or questions, call the CMBA Team at (216) 696-3525.

CMBA Emails

Email is the primary way we share information with our members, program registrants and event participants to keep you informed and offer easy ways to engage with us here at the CMBA. We recognize you may want some emails but not others, so we invite you to update your communications preferences in your CMBA account so we may keep in touch with you based on your preferences.

Members may select their email preferences in these areas/email lists:

  • Buzz at the Bar -  provides members with regular news and updates on the Association, CLEs, activities, community programs and more at a quick glance (usually 3-5 items per email). Bar Briefs also includes links to relevant local, national, and international legal stories to keep members up-to-date.
  • General CMBA News - used for broad, CMBA announcements that share important Association and Foundation news
  • Invitations - used primarily for key CMBA and Bar Foundation event notifications and announcements. We don't want you to miss out on all the fun.
  • Membership Info - includes updates on member benefits and promotions
  • CLE Notices - if you want to be in the loop on CLEs offered right here in Cleveland, be sure you are opted in for CLE notices
  • Surveys - we don't send them often, but when we do, we want to be sure we ask those who are opted in to participate

Email Deliverability: If you are not receiving regular emails from the CMBA, you may have opted out through Constant Contact - the service we use to send group emails to our membership and use for the majority of our e-communications. This is different than deliverability of a direct email from a CMBA Team member. To opt back in, click here to rejoin select CMBA lists or text CMBAemail to 22828 and follow the prompts.

For more specific help, contact the CMBA at (216) 696-3525.
