Author an Article
Members can get published to showcase expertise and experience. There are two different types of Bar Journal articles — columns and features.
Columns
Columns are reoccurring one-page articles that center around specific topics or groups. These are coordinated by specific CMBA members and committees. Some examples include the Ethics Perspective, Legal Research & Writing, or Green Initiative. Contact us if you are interested in learning more about column writing.

Features
Feature articles are about many different relevant topics. Most feature articles go along with the issue's monthly theme according to the Editorial Calendar, which is populated by different themes from our Sections. Almost all feature articles are selected through a "call for articles" process that goes to each Section throughout the year. Section membership is the best way to learn about article-writing opportunities, although you don't have to be a Section member to submit an article. The topic submission deadlines are listed on the Editorial Calendar. Make sure to submit your topic idea by the deadline so it can be considered for publication.
Occasionally, we will accept "off-topic" articles that don't coincide with the overall theme. Feel free to send us your article ideas, and we will see if we can fit them in to a future Bar Journal.
