When the pandemic began in March 2020, roughly 34 million viewers streamed Tiger King—a true crime Netflix documentary miniseries about a small community of big cat conservations and collectors. As the show’s tagline promised, murder, mayhem, and madness occurred, but plenty of probate litigation happened behind the scenes. Probate litigation is a growing practice area with $68 trillion expected to pass from one generation to the next during the upcoming 20 years. Paul Shugar is a shareholder in Reminger Co., LPA’s probate litigation department, and he will use the Tiger King probate litigation as an entertaining case study to introduce attendees to various kinds of estate, trust, and guardianship litigation
