1. Excel for Attorneys

Microsoft Excel is all about managing data. Using Office 365, this course will show powerful features that will save you time and help you bill more! This one hour course will summarize tools that will help you:
• Use Tables to automate many Excel features and formatting.
• Organize contacts in Excel – manipulating text use sorting, filters, conditional formatting, data validation and formulas to manage contacts for mail merges
• Review a few noteworthy printing tips and tricks
• Demonstrate favorite charts that make your data visually appealing
• Reveal what you are missing if you don’t know about the auto-fill feature

For over 25 years, Sherri Simonian (www.officesoftwaresolutions.com) has been helping legal professionals improve their processes – allowing for more billable hours! Traveling internationally to support software rollouts and upgrades from solo practitioners to multi-national law firms. Since the pandemic, Sherri has decided there are enough firms in northeast Ohio to plant her roots and support her local clients with software implementations, new-hire training and process improvement.
2. Adoption Update

About this program:
This program will introduce the practitioner to the basics of adoption law, including the filing of the petition and necessary supporting documents, determining when consents are required, hearing requirements and standard adoption forms.
The presentation will include the perspectives of both an adoption attorney and a probate judge and will include updates on recent case law and legislative changes.

The Shinn Law FirmMaria L. Shinn – Attorney, The Shinn Law Firm, LLC
Maria specializes in estate planning, probate administration, adoptions, and non-traditional family law throughout the state of Ohio. She is a frequent lecturer on LGBTQ issues, estate planning, adoption, and legal protections for seniors. Maria has served as a board member for several non-profits in Northeast Ohio and currently serves as a Commissioner on the City of Lakewood’s Civil Service Commission. In 2016, she received the Women Honoring Women Award for Small Firm/Solo Practitioner from the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Women in the Law Section. Maria is a magna cum laude graduate of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
3. Pivoting to Retirement from the Practice of Law

William R. Hawke is a Partner with Cedar Brook Group. He devises and implements comprehensive financial, retirement and estate planning strategies for affluent investors, corporate executives and closely held business owners, as well as income distribution strategies for current retirees. Prior to joining Cedar Brook Group, Mr. Hawke served as a Financial Planner with Cleveland Financial Group for 27 years.
Mr. Hawke received a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He received a Masters in Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, School of Social Work and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea. He earned a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) and also The Chartered Life Underwriter designation. Mr. Hawke is a Registered Representative with Securities America, Inc., and Investment Advisor Representative with Securities America Advisors and Cedar Brook Group, SEC Registered Investment Advisors.
Active in a variety of civic causes, Mr. Hawke currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Hopewell, Inc., a therapeutic farm community for mentally ill adults, and he is very active with The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. He and his wife of 44 years, Connie, have four children and reside in Aurora, Ohio.
Leisure time activities include golf, cycling, woodworking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
