Joseph N. Gross is a partner of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, in Cleveland, Ohio. He focuses his practice on a variety of labor and employment matters, including workers’ compensation defense. He is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Labor & Employment Law. He is Benesch’s Ethics Chair and frequently speaks and writes on the topics of labor and employment and legal professionalism and ethics.
Mr. Gross received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri, his MBA from Southern Illinois University, and his JD, summa cum laude, from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Before becoming an attorney, Joe spent 18 years in the steel industry, working in several management areas, including industrial engineering, accounting, finance, and strategic planning. He is also a Navy veteran.
Mr. Gross is the President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and has chaired its Fiscal Policy, Certified Grievance, and Ethics and Professionalism Committees. He is the President of the Cleveland Law Library Association and a Master Bencher of the Cleveland Employment Inn of Court. He is also on the advisory board of the Miller Becker Center for Professional Responsibility. Joe was also a member of the LeadDIVERSITY class of the National Conference for Community and Justice, now known as the Diversity Center.
