Our 2021 Louis Stokes Scholars are busy with in-person learning and mentorship. On June 30th, the seven new Scholars visited the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas to experience the court in real time.
Managing Attorney for the Cuyahoga County Court Resource Center Laura Creed led the group through their day in court. The students sat in for an arraignment and heard from both Cuyahoga County Public Defender Chief Trial Counsel Russell Tye, and Aqueelah Jordan, Cleveland's Chief Prosecutor. The group even met with Administrative and Presiding Judge Brendan Sheehan.
Thanks to generous commitments from leaders in our courts and our community, the Louis Stokes Scholars program is going strong into our 10th year!
