Beginning on Tuesday, June 22, vaccinated visitors to the Cuyahoga County Justice Center will be allowed access to the building without wearing a mask. Here's the message from Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Administrative and Presiding Judge Brendan Sheehan:

Good morning,

In the past few weeks we have seen excellent progress in the fight against COVID-19.  In recognition of that progress, we are adjusting our building safety requirements consistent with guidance from both the CDC and the Ohio and County Boards of Health.

Beginning on Tuesday, June 22, if you provide proof of vaccination to the Common Pleas Court, General Division, Court Administration,  11th Floor Justice Center, you will not be required to wear a mask when in the building.  Please note that you must be two weeks from the date of your final dose in order to be considered vaccinated and receive your sticker.  Upon providing a copy of your vaccination card to Court Administration, you will be given a sticker to place on your attorney ID badge that indicates you have been vaccinated and are not required to wear a mask.  You will also not need to go through the temperature screening process when entering the building.  It is important to note that with this policy, your ID must be visible at all times.  If it is not, regardless of your vaccination status, you must wear a mask.

If you choose not to provide proof of vaccination, you must continue to wear a mask in accordance with the attached policy.  Further, regardless of your vaccination status, you can choose to wear a mask at any time.  All public are still required to wear a mask and go through temperature screening.  However, no individual should be subject to pressure, harassment, discrimination or questioning regarding their decision to forego vaccination or continue wearing a mask.  The Court continues to encourage everyone to be respectful of social distancing and to exercise proper hygiene and sanitation.

There may be circumstances in which you are directed to wear a mask.  If so, and you do not have a mask of your own, one will be provided for your use.

I look forward to seeing you in the Justice Center.

Best,
Brendan
