Cleveland Municipal Court Trial Postponed for Lack of Jurors - CMBA News and Information

From, A Cleveland Municipal Court judge on Thursday had to scrap the court’s first scheduled jury trial since the coronavirus pandemic began because not enough people showed up for jury duty.

Only 12 of the 75 people the court summoned for jury duty reported to the Justice Center on Thursday morning, leaving the court with too few potential jurors to seat a jury, Judge Suzan Sweeney said.

“That’s 16 percent of people doing their civic duty,” Sweeney said in a phone interview.
