About the 2020 Justice For All Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient:
Catherine R. Donnelly, The Legal Aid Society

The Justice For All Committee of the CMBA was pleased to select Catherine Donnelly for the 2020 JFA Volunteer of the Year Award for her extraordinary volunteer service, as nominated by the leadership committee of the Women In Law Section (WIL).

Catherine serves as a Board Member for two organizations – the Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland and The Meeting Place Learning Center. At the same time, she has been an active volunteer attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland since 2008 before joining as a staff member in 2020.

For the past four years, Catherine has also been a regular volunteer for the Women’s Business Center of Ohio, the local chapter a national network of nearly 100 educational centers designed to assist women to start and grow small businesses. Notably in 2020, Catherine organized a CLE program to promote the mission of the Women’s Business Center and offer other WIL members the opportunity to engage with this worthwhile organization. In doing so, Catherine provided a service opportunity for WIL members that is directly in line with WIL’s goal to promote women in the legal profession as well as in business. Beyond the legal profession, Catherine also volunteers at St. Colman Church monthly by assisting with the distribution of meals to the community.

In addition to her volunteer work, Catherine served as the Vice-Chair & Membership Co-Chair for WIL in 2020 and currently serves as Co-Chair this Bar Year. During the 2019-2020 Bar Year, Catherine has been a vital part of the WIL leadership committee as well as an active member of the JFA Committee. She has contributed tremendously to the WIL Section’s success as well as the numerous member events held over the past year.
