Two weeks ago, the CMBA asked the Plain Dealer to publish an article drafted in response to the Plain Dealer’s March 28 editorial criticizing the Justice Center Steering Committee’s unanimous decision to proceed with the building of a new jail. While the newspaper elected not to print our article, we wanted to share it directly with our members. You can read the full CMBA statement here.
On Monday, April 19th at Noon, we are hosting a virtual Hot Talk via Zoom and Facebook Live that will dig deeper into these issues. Join us – and invite your friends and colleagues as well. As we shared in the proposed article,
“The CMBA remains vigilant in our monitoring of the Justice Center Project as we stated when we were denied a position on the Steering Committee even though this project directly impacts our nearly 5,000 members, our members’ clients, and the entire legal community. Building the next generation of justice in Cleveland should be a priority issue for every citizen. We should all be asking questions, every step of the way.”
