From University of Akron faculty and staff newsletter The Digest:
Christopher J. (C.J.) Peters has announced his decision not to seek an extension of his contract as Akron Law's dean after his current four-year term expires in mid-June 2021.
Peters, whose contract runs through June 14, 2021, has agreed to remain in the position for up to one year while the University conducts a national search for a new dean. Upon the conclusion of the extension, he will return to his first passion of teaching and scholarship as a full-time, tenured professor.
"C.J. cares deeply about this institution and has been a trusted leader for the past four years," said John Wiencek, executive vice president and provost. "We are appreciative that he will remain in the position during the search and are excited about the energy and expertise that he will later bring to the classroom."
