Wednesday's meeting of the Cuyahoga County Bench-Bar COVID-19 Task Force gave participants a chance to consider centralized booking in the Justice Center, now and post-COVID. Cuyahoga County Chief of Public Safety and Justice Services Robert Coury gave an update on the centralized booking plan, which is designed to streamline booking, reduce pre-trial jail time, and route cases to the appropriate courts more efficiently. The Task Force is made up of judges from all Cuyahoga County courts, plus other active stakeholders in our legal community.
You can see the entire meeting including Mr. Coury's presentation in this video.
This interim plan is part of the larger initiative to redesign and rebuild Cuyahoga County's Justice Center including the jail and the courts. The CMBA has been a consistent advocate for positive, permanent change in our justice Center. You can read more about The Future State of Justice on our page dedicated to that topic.
