MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2020 - Judges Vote To Postpone Trials Until January 19
The Judges of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court General Division have voted to suspend jury trials until Tuesday, January 19. The decision was made on Monday, November 23, based on the continued reports of high COVID-19 positivity rates in the county. The Judges had previously voted to postpone jury trials until December 1. The Court will remain open, with hearings being held by phone or video whenever possible. Bench trials may still be scheduled and the Grand Juries will continue to meet.
The Court will continue to monitor the status of the pandemic and will review the latest numbers on a weekly basis. Any juror scheduled to report during this time should still call the number on their summons the evening before their report date to determine the status of trial.
