John Kosko joined the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office in 1979 as a law clerk. Upon graduating from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, John was hired as an assistant county prosecutor by then County Prosecutor, John T. Corrigan.
Nominator Michael C. O'Malley says that during his journey in the office, John has demonstrated a willingness to try cases, through hard work, preparedness and compassion for the victims and their families.
In 2006, John received the Ohio Bar Association’s Assistant Prosecutor of the Year award.
John resides in Lakewood with his wife Judge Nancy R. McDonnell of the Court of Common Pleas, Cuyahoga County. He is the proud father of three. Helen is a RN at Metro Hospital; John D. is a Police Officer for the City of Cleveland, First District; and Jane is a Banker at PNC Bank.
John is an avid Cleveland sports fan. If he didn’t work in Public Service, he would love to be a Play-by-Play announcer for the Cleveland Indians. His bucket list includes going to the first Super Bowl the Cleveland Browns play in.
