Magistrate Embry graduated from the Case Western Reserve School of Law and began her legal career as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. As a Legal Aid attorney, she fought to ensure access to justice to members of society who are of low income and traditionally underserved.
Magistrate Embry joined the Cleveland Housing Court in 2000. During her 20 year service as a Magistrate with the Housing Court, Magistrate Embry has presided over a wide variety of housing cases, presented at numerous seminars, including Cleveland Housing Court’s Landlord Clinics to educate landlords and tenants regarding their rights under Ohio’s Landlord Tenant Act, women’s shelter to prepare residents to successfully reenter and maintain rental housing, and has volunteered at various housing clinics to provide information and assistance to Cleveland and Bratenahl residents regarding housing related matter.
To better assist the legal community as well as the community as a whole, Magistrate Embry has also served on the Executive Committee for the Norman S. Minor Bar Association and was Board member of the Shaker Square Area Development Corporation. Magistrate Embry has also provided mentorship to numerous law students and youth seeking guidance and direction.
Magistrate Embry resides in Twinsburg Township with her husband of 23 years, Kevin. Her bucket list won’t be complete until she completes a food tour of Cleveland’s ethnically diverse neighborhoods!
