OSBA Notes Continued Commitment to Education, Inclusion and Diversity

CLEVELAND - October 20, 2020 - The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) is proud to receive the 2020 Outstanding Program or Organization Award from the Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF.)

In selecting CMBA for this prestigious statewide award, the OSBF stated:

“The organization is committed to promoting inclusion and diversity within the legal profession, the justice system, and the entire community. They do this through multiple initiatives, including surveys, best practice program research, diversity pipeline programs that work with students from high school through law school into the profession, host conferences and forums, and minority career fairs. Because of this and more, we found them worthy of receiving this year’s Award.”

The OSBF committee singled out our legal education programs in Cleveland and East Cleveland Schools. Our 3R’s (Rights, Responsibilities and Realities)program, Stokes Scholars, and Mock Trial Competitions continue to teach students about all aspects of the law, even under Covid-19 restrictions.

CMBA was also recognized for our REAL (Racial Equity And the Law)initiative. Our REAL Talks bring together diverse voices to find common ground on which to build a better, more equitable future. For more on Racial Equity And the Law including our 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge, visit

“Everything that we do as an organization is founded on four core values,” said CMBA CEO Rebecca Ruppert McMahon. “Conscious inclusion, professional excellence, innovative leadership, and community advancement. This recognition is an honor for our Bar Association and Bar Foundation Boards, our staff and the members who make it all happen.”
