Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association
The CMBA is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to serving the needs of legal professionals in Greater Cleveland. A voluntary membership organization, our members include attorneys and judges, law students, paralegals, and other business professionals. Together, we serve as the collective voice of our legal profession, both bench and bar. The CMBA has an operating budget of approximately $3 million and is home to nearly 5,000 members.
In March 2008, the Cleveland Bar and Cuyahoga County Bar Association combined more than 135 years of rich history to create the unified Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association with a primary reach of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. As a result, the CMBA serves the largest legal community in Ohio. A center for legal professionalism in the region, it promotes the highest ethical and professional standards while leveraging the talent and generosity of our members to serve the Greater Cleveland community with lauded pro bono and community service programs focusing on youth & workforce development, access to justice, and nonprofit & artistic communities.
Lawyers Giving Back
We are also the home of nationally recognized "Lawyers Giving Back" public outreach and pro bono legal service programs, funded by our Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation. The Foundation's tagline - "Lawyers Giving Back" - captures the spirit behind the hard work of our volunteers and Foundation to serve our community well.
