CMBA Auto-Renewal Terms & Conditions

CMBA Auto-Renew includes all annual membership dues, section dues and other annual Association or Foundation contributions added during the membership year.

On or about June 1, the credit card or debit card payment will be processed. Members will receive an annual reminder email at least one month in advance of dues payment processing. Members may cancel their participation in CMBA Auto- Renew and avoid incurring the annual dues charges by opting out online or sending notice of cancellation no later than five days before the scheduled dues processing date. Notice of cancellation may be communicated by any of the means as noted below. Members will also receive an email receipt after payment is processed. This email receipt will include a breakdown of dues.

A credit card or debit card is required. Should the payment card be declined, the member will be notified by email or by phone by a CMBA team member. Auto-Renew will be de-activated and re-enrollment will be required either by phone or online.

The CMBA provides different membership rates. The CMBA reserves the right to change these annual membership dues rates. Any changes to membership dues will be available in the annual email notification. If at any time during the membership year the member’s eligibility as a CMBA member changes, auto-renew will be de-activated and re-enrollment will be required either by phone or online.

You may choose to auto-renew when renewing your Classic Membership or joining as a Classic new member at any time. Please note: Auto-renewal is required for BarOne Membership. The full amount of any current membership dues balance for members will be collected at the time of enrollment. Auto- Renew will begin upon the start of the membership year which is July 1 through June 30 and processed annually on or about June 1.

CMBA Auto-Renew FAQ

How is my card being stored?

CMBA's payment processing system is PCI compliant. You can view the certificate here. All credit card transactions are processed through Authorize.net and stored in their secure servers. We do not see your credit card number. Authorize.net's Customer Information Manager (CIM) service allows you to store your customers’ sensitive payment information on our secure servers for use in future transactions. By providing quick access to stored information, CIM is an ideal tool for companies that:

  • Process recurring transactions where the date and/or amount is different each month (such as utility companies)

  • Process usage charges – where you only bill when the service is used. (such as pay-as-you-go cell phones)

  • Are concerned with PCI compliance

  • Want to provide returning customers with the convenience of not re-entering personal data

CIM helps eliminate steps in the checkout process for repeat customers, potentially increasing loyalty and revenue. It can also help you comply with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, since customer information is no longer stored on your local servers.

Why is the CMBA using Auto-Renew?

We want all members to have uninterrupted access to CMBA membership benefits. By using auto-renew, members will continue to receive timely notice of section and committee meetings, CLE programs, emails including the weekly Buzz at the Bar, and delivery of the Bar Journal.

What is included?

All annual membership dues, section dues and other annual Association or Foundation contributions added during the membership year.

When and how will I be charged?

When the next membership year approaches and you’re enrolled in auto-renew, the full amount for membership dues and add-on’s will be collected at that time. Auto-Renew will occur annually thereafter on June 1. You will receive an email receipt to confirm payment. A credit card or debit card is required and will be securely stored. All memberships are non- refundable once paid; however, members will have access to all member benefits through the end of the membership year.

Will I be notified?

Yes! You will receive a reminder email at least one month in advance of your payment processing.

What if my card is no longer valid?

If we are unable to process your payment, you will be notified by email or phone by a CMBA representative. If your card is not current, auto-renew will be de-activated and re-enrollment will be required either online or by phone.

Will my dues ever change?
