Inclusion & Diversity Committee

A core value of the CMBA is its commitment to promote inclusion and diversity within the legal profession, justice system and the wider community. This Committee provides oversight of the CMBA's inclusion and diversity initiatives including study, surveys, best practice program research, goal setting and evaluation; diversity pipeline programs connecting students from high school through law school into the profession; convening conferences and forums; developing minority Career Fairs; and bestowing recognition and awards for outstanding effort and programs.

Current diversity pipeline programs include The 3Rs and Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Academy for high school students, Louis Stokes Scholars Program for college students and Minority Clerkship Program for law students.

The Inclusion & Diversity Committee works collaboratively with the CMBA's Women in the Law Section and other community partners, as well as plays a key role in the CMBA's Racial Equity And the Law (REAL) efforts: learn more at
