The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy presents the 2014 Trial Advocacy Institute.
NEW THIS YEAR: Sessions will be held weekly on Thursday afternoons to give students and faculty more flexibility with scheduling. Sessions will be held on September 4, 11 and 18 and October 2, 9, 16 and 23, with the final trial on October 30.
Features of the NITA Trial Advocacy Institute:
- Weekly half-day sessions
- Intensive trial advocacy training
- Critiques by experienced practitioners
- NITA’s renowned “learn by doing” approach
- Conduct a full jury trial presided by a local judge
Learn the challenging arts of trial advocacy and persuasion in this unique,
hands-on program. Using NITA’s learning-by-doing method, participants in the
Trial Advocacy Institute engage in a simulation of necessary courtroom skills, see
trial demonstrations, and hear lectures on advocacy from NITA’s experienced
faculty of trial lawyers, judges, advocacy teachers, and communications experts.
Participants learn to better perform direct and cross examinations, lay
foundations, deliver opening statements and closing arguments, learn the right
way to impeach, and conduct voir dire followed by instant faculty feedback
and critique of live and video taped performances. In addition, all program
participants will gain a better understanding of jury psychology through the
execution of a full jury trial.
Save time and travel dollars by attending the only local NITA Trial Advocacy course. Participants will receive a detailed schedule, with locations, prior to the start of the program.
Only 32 spaces available! Register early to avoid being closed out! Early Bird Registration available until August 15 - save $150 off the regular price!
