“Rock the Foundation” Hits House of Blues March 10th
Cleveland’s Ultimate Casual Rock ’n’ Roll Party to Benefit the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation
CLEVELAND – Feb. 23, 2012 – The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation (CMBF) will host its seventh annual Rock the Foundation party, presented by FirstMerit Wealth Management Services, at the House of Blues Cleveland on March 10 from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Open to the public, Rock the Foundation, is CMBF’s signature fundraising event. Included for the price of admission are live music, fantastic food, open bar, dancing, and a silent auction. The three bands performing will be The No Name Band, Transportation Boulevard, and Rule 11 and the Sanctions. General admission tickets are $125. Tickets for VIP entry are $250 and include special 6 p.m. access for a pre-event reception with wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.
“Last year’s event broke all records for both fundraising and attendance, and we are setting our sights even higher this year,” said CMBF president Ray Malone. “The support of both our legal and broader community are critical to the mission of the Bar Foundation. With their commitments, we are able to provide the outstanding programs and initiatives that serve Greater Cleveland and promote pro bono legal assistance and public law-related education.”
Ticket sales, sponsorships and auctions have helped Rock the Foundation generate more than $480,000 in its first five years for its many innovative and wide-ranging pro bono and community service programs, including The 3Rs (teaching and counseling more than 4,000 students in Cleveland and East Cleveland schools), the homeless legal assistance program (counseling more than 600 people every year), and high school mock trial competitions (bringing the law home to more than 900 students each year).
Samplings of auction items for this year include:
• Goodyear Blimp ride for two
• Seven Night Resort U.S./Caribbean Vacation
• Fighter Pilot Package
• Dr. Oz Show trip and tickets
